The idea for Magic Balloons came to me while picnicking on my sister’s birthday. As she stood holding her colorful bouquet of birthday balloons, I noticed the statue of a young boy. For a moment, it seemed as though he had come to life, reaching toward the balloons in wonder at their brilliant colors and beauty. I knew immediately that I had to paint what I imagined—a little bit of magic inspired by an ordinary moment.
