ORIGINAL OIL PAINTING BY C. J. BARNARD
OIL ON CANVAS
20" X 24"
For many years, I organized art shows featuring The Gorilla Foundation and artwork created by Koko and Michael, two western lowland gorillas who learned to communicate using American Sign Language. The exhibitions helped raise both funds and awareness for the Foundation and its work with gorillas. Inspired by my involvement, I painted Gorilla Love, portraying a lowland gorilla using the sign for one of the most meaningful words of all—LOVE.
